  1. I think you make two really good points:

    1) A player’s actions in a game will be more meaningful if they are connected to a compelling story. And this is a point that you just kind of slip into a lengthy discussion of tone vs. story, but I think you could really flesh this out and talk about how interaction design affects the tone of a piece.

    2) Emotions are not swayed by story alone, but are definitely influenced by lighting, sound, etc, which can envelop a player in a world and make up for a bad or discontinuous story.

    It was also fun to read about your “Cellist” concept, pretty cool idea
